The Last of the Short MPs is the two volume debut novel by Wayne Lennon. Born in Canada, Wayne moved to California in 1954 with his parents. He graduated from San Fernando High School in 1959. In 1961 he joined the U.S. Army and served as an MP for three years. Wayne graduated from Cal State Northridge in 1970. After extensive travel in Europe and North Africa, he settled in Santa Barbara and began writing about the experiences of a short MP. In 1982 he moved to Seattle, Washington, where he now resides with his wife Colleen and their family.
Wayne has been employed by the City of Seattle since 1986. The first four years he was a 9-1-1 emergency operator and then for the next twelve years he was employed by the Crime Prevention Unit as a Block Watch Coordinator. Since 2003 he has held the position of a Complaint Investigator with the Citizens Service Bureau in City Hall. In his spare time he likes to ice skate and go rollerblading.
Wayne is currently working on a new novel about Ray Holland, the main character of “The Last of the Short MPs.” It will focus on Ray’s search for love and stability through the seventies and eighties, from Los Angeles to Europe and from Santa Barbara to Seattle.
